This report examines the future challenges US ground forces will face and how they should adjust to them. Although many aspects of ground warfare will probably not change, the text's author believes technology will further increase the lethality of ground combat and expose everyone's actions –- and inactions –- in real time. As a result, US ground forces will have to 1) value adaptability above all else; 2) appreciate the large-scale ramifications of their actions; and 3) create acquisition processes that provide the right tool at the right place at the right time.
