This bulletin 1) measures the extent to which Russia's military has been involved in supporting the al-Assad regime in Syria; 2) highlights the difficulties Russian forces have faced in the country; and 3) argues that Moscow's pro-Assad efforts have not affected its military operations elsewhere.
