This brief speculates on how the UN's new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) might eventually affect healthcare on a global level. Basically, the brief's author is optimistic. He contends that the SDGs will most likely be a "game changer" for global health governance and, if fully implemented, they will significantly improve access to global health services. However, he also notes that these advances may come at the expense of other long-standing health targets, such as ending the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
