For many years, the United States has been able to exploit the advantages of space without having to worry too much about defending its space-borne assets. According to this paper, this legacy approach is now untenable. The US Department of Defense and other related agencies need to 1) deter and/ defend against space-centered attacks, and 2) prepare to fight and prevail in a limited space-related war. To facilitate these adjustments, the text’s author closes by laying out a framework that US authorities could follow.
