This historical piece highlights how from 2011-2014 Tunisia, unlike other Arab Spring nations, used innovative political-legislative mechanisms to create an inclusive, consensus-based constitution. The text’s author also wonders whether deploying these mechanisms, instead of more traditional power-sharing ones, might be preferable in other scenarios or contexts.
