This paper contends that although the present conflict between Russia and the West differs considerably from the Cold War, the concept of containment still applies. Indeed, the text’s author explores George Kennan's musings on the subject in order to show how the West can develop a new containment strategy that will help blunt the power politics of bellicose nations, including Russia.
