"Youth" has been an officially recognized "category of public action" in Tunisia ever since the country achieved its independence, although the discourses, values and policies associated with young people have changed as the nation’s political economy evolved. This paper focuses on the Youth policies pursued by the Tunisian government since the 1990's in four interrelated areas – family, employment, migration and “spatial planning.”
