This paper assesses the European Commission’s December 2015 proposal to set up a European Border and Coast Guard (EBCG) agency, primarily to deal with the continent's ongoing refugee crisis. The text's authors conclude that the organization, which would seemingly revamp Frontex into a Frontex+ organization, would probably fail to remedy the EU’s border control problems.
