This publication rates the overall peacefulness of Mexico’s 32 states from 2003 to 2015. It cautiously concludes that the country became more pacific in 2015, but the rate of improvement was the slowest in five years. In response, the text’s authors suggest ways to counteract this slowdown, tout the economic value of peace in Mexico, and highlight the role of civil society in promoting a stable and just society.
