This paper examines short-term prevention or crisis management efforts as developed and planned by the EU. The study addresses two issues: first, the gradual development of EU crisis management, and second, practical applications and experiences in cases of crisis. In this context, the paper investigates the conflict in Macedonia in order to show if and how the EU was able to respond adequately to this crisis.
