This paper assesses Israel's status in the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership (EMP) and explores possible policy options open to Israel. After discarding a continuation of Israel's present status in the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership, the author gauges Israel's advantages and disadvantages in obtaining membership in the European Economic Area (EEA). The author concludes that EU membership should be kept open as an eventual policy option for Israel.
