The two articles in this issue of the RAD take stock of Russia's political economy. More specifically, the first one wonders whether Russia’s workers will remain stoic in the face of economic hardship or eventually rise up in protest. The second piece then investigates the crucial role of regional governments in maintaining social and economic stability within the country, particularly by looking at the strategies developed by the government of Tatarstan to cope with the current economic crisis.
