India has thus far used its space capabilities only to support its socio-economic development. That has to change, argues the author of this brief. New Delhi needs to devise a cohesive national space policy that will not only guard its interests in this domain, but also address existing and emerging challenges. To facilitate the process, the brief's author provides his own recommendations on how to formulate an effective space policy.
