This paper addresses issues related to the post-war period in Iraq as of August 2003. The study discusses the missing weapons of mass destruction and analyzes the growing violence in the country. It also considers the various myths and realities of the war with respect to civil-military relations, the role of the Iraq conflict as part of the wider war on terror, and the US military predicament as an occupying power.
