The April 2006, 1st quarter issue of Comparative Connections focuses on the publication of several US policy papers (including the 2006 US National Security Strategy), and the release of the Japanese Foreign Ministry's 2006 Diplomatic Blue Book. The chapters examine the various bilateral and multilateral initiatives in the region, in particular, North Korean Leader Kim Jong-Il's surprise visit to Beijing.
