Prepared by the Institute for National Strategic Studies (INSS) for the US Department of Defense (DoD), these perspectives analyze key issues such as the strengthening of the US-Japan security alliance, sustaining peace in the Balkans with European partners through NATO missions and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in the Middle East. It also covers selective engagement with Russia on key issues of strategic stability, stabilizing the Indo-Pakistani nuclear competition, supporting efforts to address instability in Colombia and its environs and revised approach to arms control and nuclear posture.
