This paper examines security issues the US Army faces in Iraq in the context of the "war on terror." The author addresses in particular US causalities and problems of insurgency in Iraq, the impact of the war in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan. The author concludes that the "war on terror" may be entering a new phase.
