This paper assesses the US invasion of Iraq and its aftermath three years after the start of US military operations. The paper examines the costs of war including civilian causalities, the loss of equipment including tanks and helicopters, and evaluates the problems related to the ongoing insurgency targeting economic facilities, especially oil.
