Publication

The Strategic Assessment 1998 discusses three military challenges the US is facing and will face in the two decades ahead: shaping the strategic environment, responding to aggression and preparing for an uncertain future. The publication is therefore organized under the rubrics of shaping, responding and preparing. The authors examine different regions in which the US can shape the strategic environment, operational requirements the military must respond to and different approaches to preparing for the future.
