This paper analyzes the Palestinian refugee problem by examining existing literature on return migration and repatriation processes. The author assesses the factors that contribute to the decision of whether to return to a place of origin or not. The paper argues that in the Palestinian context, return is a political issue of importance for all parties concerned and that Palestinian return migration has been structurally invisible. The paper concludes that the politicization of transnational paradigms should be acknowledged by studying Palestinian transnational mobility and relations.
