This publication contends that winning a certain percentage of seats in the coming European Parliament election would enable anti-European parties to block some of the EU’s procedures and hinder the adoption of new legislation. The text's authors argue this could have a damaging impact on the content of the EU’s foreign policy, as well as on the Union’s overall institutional readiness and its political credibility. In light of this, this paper analyzes the political situation in each of the EU’s 27 member states. It also offers a strategy for supporters of an outward-looking Europe to counter anti-European parties by highlighting the real-world costs of their key policy ideas and more.
