This paper examines security challenges in the Euro-Mediterranean area. Firstly, it provides a geopolitical overview of the main political developments around the Mediterranean area. Then, the study considers main conflicts in the region, namely the Algerian situation, assesses possibilities of a solution to the Cypriot problem and evaluates instability in the Middle East.
