This paper discusses the aftermath of the 2006 Lebanon war. The author discusses the reasons for the Israel Defense Forces' difficulties in confronting Hezbollah and limiting its effectiveness. He argues that the 2006 Lebanon war cast considerable doubt on the traditional Israeli policy of powerful military deterrence.
