This study addressing Syrian Jihadism is a contribution to the debate about the pros and cons of establishing stronger diplomatic ties between Syria and the US. The study concludes that while the Syrian government was successful in weakening the Jihadi movement, some of the methods it used empowered conservative Muslims and destabilized Iraq.
