This briefing paper examines the 2002 parliamentary elections in Colombia that took place after President Andrés Pastrana had declared the three-year peace process with the FARC has ended. The briefing gives an overview of previous elections and electoral outcomes, and outlines the elections of 2002 concentrating on the results of independent and presidential candidates. It concludes by urging further political reform in Colombia.
