This SDA dinner debate report examines questions related to the level of preparation readiness in Europe regarding a pandemic flu attack. Among the issues the participants discuss are: how to increase country capacity in surveillance, early detection, diagnosis and response; how Europe can help countries facing significant risk, as well as those with underdeveloped response mechanisms; what gaps there are in current vaccine production capability; the expected demand during a pandemic; and what can be learned from preparing for such a scenario that will ready us in the event of a bioterrorist attack.
