This working paper addresses the EU and US counterterrorism cooperation after the London attacks in 2005. The paper argues that the urgency of European coordination in the struggle against terrorism is difficult to overstate, as is the need to coordinate counterterrorist activities between the EU and the US. The author concludes that after a rather shaky start, there are some signs that both the EU and the US began to learn some of the basics of cooperation in counterterrorism.
