This publication discusses the challenge of multiethnicity to the nation-states Malaysia and Philippines. It examines the different structures of multiethnicity in both countries and the consequences of these different types. The author briefs national politics with respect to multi-ethnicity management and elaborates on the two case studies. Finally, the paper analyzes ethno-politics as a product of social practice.
