This briefing examines the political and economic crisis in Zimbabwe. It outlines the political and economic problems and the land reform issue, and identifies the country's president, Mugabe, as the major obstacle to reform. The paper concludes by urging restoration of the rule of law, cooperation with the private sector and the political opposition and addressing of the land reform issue in a non-political manner.
