This paper addresses the issue of nuclear power in Asia and argues that for many Asian nations, nuclear power is one way to reduce their dependence on other nations for imported fuels and is also valued for simple prestige. The author discusses plans for nuclear power programs in Asia and concludes that some nations underestimate the cost, controversy and complexity of this way of generating energy.
