This paper discusses labor migration in Asia, where governments and citizens worry about the effects of migrants on domestic economies. The author argues that efforts to control migration in Asia have mostly failed and therefore more than half of Asia's migrant workers are illegal. The author explains why unmanaged migration could aggravate tensions between countries and even slow the region's economic development.
