This paper discusses the oil market in the Asia Pacific Region. The authors give an introduction to the key players in the market and provide an outlook on possible future developments. The paper explains that the market is characterized by strong growth in consumption, declining regional oil production, over-capacity in the competitive oil-refining sector, and a race to acquire access to resources between China, Japan and South Korea.
