This report examines the effects of the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) on the business environment. While the main focus is on the 2008-12 period, the report also looks beyond 2012. The first section introduces the issues related to the business consequences. The second analyzes the main impacts in greater depth and third section assesses a number of promising proposals designed to make the most of the EU ETS.
