This paper focuses on the role China plays in global e-commerce in terms of market size and scope. It analyzes key reasons for the challenges that China faces in e-commerce, such as an insufficient knowledge (on the part of entrepreneurs) of the complexity and dynamics of e-business, obstacles to web access and e-banking, inadequate supply and delivery systems, and security concerns. In the last section, the report recommends measures to be taken by the Chinese government in future development strategies.
