This article explores the difficult situation Sweden, Finland and Denmark now face vis-à-vis revived concerns about the Nord Stream 2 project. The Russian-Ukraine shadow war and the deteriorating security situation in the Baltic Sea region have made the three countries more wary about the project, but none of them wants to use their national laws or the Law of the Sea to outright block Nord Stream 2, which still enjoys support from Germany.
