In this paper, the author presents a critique of an essay by Adam Przeworski, which attempts to explicitly dissociate democracy from equality. The author's arguments take the form of an investigative attack on the notion of democracy that is prevalent both in Przeworski's paper and contemporary discourse. The author concludes that contemporary mass media and social science pursue a deflated conception of democracy’s meaning, detaching it from the practical implications of moral equality.
