This paper summarizes a high-level discussion on Afghanistan’s transition since the end of the Taliban regime. It highlights the roles of Pakistan and Canada in the country as well as the growth of the drug economy. The workshop was held near Waterloo, Ontario, Canada with diplomats, academics, aid workers, soldiers and practitioners with extensive experience in Afghanistan participating.
