With regional tensions running high, this paper examines the legal ramifications of Russia conducting military maneuvers near NATO territory. Although the UN Charter imposes an obligation on states to refrain from threatening the territorial integrity of any other state, the text’s author concludes that it would be difficult to prove that recent Russian exercises violated the UNC principle. The case law just isn’t there to support the claim.
