Publication

Feb 2007

This publication demonstrates the conflicting interests of the US and Russia in the Caucasus. It also addresses the shared priorities and mutual advantages, which could provide a foundation for containing conflict. The author examines the role of the Caucasus in world politics, the security challenges, oil security, the war in Chechnya and the "frozen" secessionist conflicts in Southern Caucasus.
