This paper examines US and Chinese political warfare in Africa. It analyzes the historical context, definition and employment of this nonviolent instrument of grand strategy. The author explores the US capabilities to conduct political warfare as well as Chinese political warfare operations in Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa. He underscores the lack of political warfare in the US strategy and argues that the Chinese efforts intentionally target US interests.
