This issue of Strategic Insights focuses mainly on the 2003 invasion of Iraq. In particular, it discusses the chances for democracy in post-war Iraq and peacebuilding and strategic planning before the invasion. The paper also addresses issues such as the effects of economic decline in Pakistan, the conflict potential between India and Pakistan, NATO enlargement to Eastern and Southern Europe as well as US counterterrorism strategy.
