This report presents suggestions to support and strengthen Sudan's peace process, commenting on the lagged implementation of the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), regional conflicts beyond Darfur and related international efforts. The paper reviews the implementation of the CPA with a focus on regional problems and the policy of Sudan's People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) and of the National Congress Party (NCP). Subsequently, the paper sheds light on other conflict zones and suggests steps for the development of an international strategy. The paper warns that return to large-scale war is a real threat.
