This paper illustrates the controversy over the US military presence in Iraq following the analysis of the Iraq Study Group (ISG). The author suggests several actions to accomplish the US mission in Iraq: to accelerate the training of the Iraqi army and police force, to pull out US combat brigades, to support Iraqi forces with intelligence, logistics and air support and to assist friendly regional powers with training.
