The three articles in this edition of the CTC Sentinel focus on 1) how while Syria’s Middle Euphrates River Valley has been liberated from the Islamic State, there is a risk of a jihadi revival in the region; 2) how the networks that facilitate transnational improvised explosive devices (IED) may expand into weapons of mass destruction (WMD) proliferation, and 3) the implications of the Colombian National Liberation Army’s (ELN) possible suicide attack on the national police academy in Bogotà in January 2019. The volume also features an interview with Shaun Greenough, Case Strategy and Mentor Supervisor at The Unity Initiative (TUI) in the UK.
