This edition of the Elcano Global Presence Report ranks some 100 countries according to how involved they are in the globalization process, primarily through economic, military and soft power means. The report specifically highlights 1) China’s high ranking in the Index; 2) the increasingly blurred lines between traditional powers and emerging countries; 3) the unprecedented decline of the so-called ‘foreign policy space’; 4) the re-concentration of top players within the global arena; and 5) the key drivers of (de)globalization.
