This paper explores how a potential resurgence of the liberal Free Democratic Party (FDP) within the Bundestag could affect German and European politics following the Germany’s 2017 federal elections. More specifically, the author focuses on the party’s position towards key European policy issues, including 1) EU institutional reform, 2) the possibility of further European integration through a ´multi-speed Europe´ program, and 3) eurozone fiscal reforms.
