This paper examines the defense of the US against long-range missiles. It briefs the history of national missile defense and discusses the effectiveness and stability of the defense. In particular, it analyzes what the threat consists of, how well the missile defense would work and what the objects of ballistic missile defense are. The author also explores the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty debate.
