This paper considers the potential for post-conflict societies in the Balkans to achieve a stable and lasting peace. It argues that human energy and a vision for a better future could be the main engines in overcoming existing problems. The author urges interested parties to focus on developing visionary leaders, identifying leaders' desirable characteristics and aiding existing leaders. The papers concludes that positive transformation in the Balkans is possible.
