This paper examines characteristics of semi-presidentialism in Eastern European constitutional democracies, with a particular focus on Serbia. The author discerns the main legal and political elements of the semi-presidential system and classifies the Serbian system by applying the general system criteria used in comparative constitutional and political practice.
