This paper examines trends in agro-commodity trade up to 2005, in relation to the changing global and Asian patterns of import demand and price trends. It also examines the performance of "commodity-dependent developing countries" (CDDC) in agro-commodity trade. The paper finds that the "commodity boom" does not extend to agro-commodities and that the agro-commodity trade performance of the CDDCs is weak.
